My journey in Child Nutrition has given me the wonderful experience of having a career with a purpose "Feed Children" and I can't think of a better reward than that.  I have a Bachelor's in Science, Nutrition-Dietetics and I love food but I love it more if it's healthy for us.  School Food Service has allowed me to work with great talent from Cafeteria staff, Students, and Administrators.  We get to create and test recipes; the best part is allowing students to do Taste Tests and hearing their joy of excitement when they really like a new school food item.  As a Child Nutrition Director I get to lead and motivate people of all backgrounds and what I have learned is that everyone has something to contribute and as a leader, I cannot do it alone but with a great team!  My experience with CTSFSDA has been nothing but rewarding and helpful; it's the one network where we can ask for ideas, feedback, share and compare.  It's great to know we are not alone and when we can help each other out whether it's a Compliance situation or a Menu suggestion, it helps to know someone is always willing to help or share ideas.  Thank you CTSFSDA!

I have over 10 years of Child Nutrition experience.  This profession has opened up many opportunities for me in my career path including teaching for TASN and education service centers.  I have been involved with CTSFSDA for many years and have served on the board in all capacities, but am currently serving as Treasurer.  This organization has contributed to my career growth not only with the many educational resources but also by the networking it provides for all.

As director for over 10 years, I oversee all operations of the TISD’s Child Nutrition program. I have been apart of the Thorndale ISD family for 14 years and have more than 30 years of food service experience in the private and public sector. I have been a member of the C.T.S.F.S.D association since 2017 and at this time I am currently holding the Secretary position until 2020.

I was raised in Taylor, TX, but have called Thorndale my home for 25 years. I am the proud mother of 3 daughters and 2 grandchildren. I have a passion for my job and love working with people. I know the success of CN is due to my team and all of their hard work. My love for the child nutrition program is evident in everything I do & I am always trying to motivate employees and campus teams to do their best, provide great customer service and offer high-quality meals for all students at Thorndale ISD.
